Issue 4 - The Adventures Of Spatula Man part 1And as an exclusive bonus... Director's commentaryOK, so for you tech geeks out there, this scene was drawn with my standard Impega soft medium black ballpoint gel pen on A4 printer paper. It was scanned in on a HP Vivera printer/scanner then resized and touched up on an Apple eMac computer.
This comic began life as a Mr. Jenkins short, but with bees instead of cats. I like bees, but I don't like cats, so I decided it would be funnier for me if a supervillain's idea of a good trap is to set some cats on fire, then lock them in a room (never once checking on them before he has to unveil them, proving that Tuxedo Man is a bit of a rubbish villain).
In this episode I really had to work hard on correcting any mistakes - if you look carefully, you can probably see that in the last frame I accidentally omitted Spatula Man's spatula. I used Photoshop CS to copy the spatula from the first frame, resize it and paste it onto the third scene. I'd like to think it's the sort of thing you'll only notice once you've been told it's there.
I may expand the Spatula Man franchise somewhat, but I want his beard to get longer every time and I'm not sure how I'll be able to keep that going after nine or ten episodes.
